Key Benefits of Connecting Your Accounting Software

  • Automated Bank Feeds: Automatically sync your Wio account transactions and daily balances into your accounting software.

  • Effortless Reconciliation: Eliminate manual CSV uploads and matching errors with real-time bank feeds.

  • Direct Vendor Payouts: Initiate local AED vendor and supplier payments directly from your accounting dashboard.

  • Two-Factor Payment Security: Every payment initiated from an integrated platform requires One-Time Passcode (OTP) verification on your registered mobile device.

  • Zero Additional Wio Fees: Wio does not charge any extra integration fees for connecting your accounts.

What Permissions Are Available?

When connecting your Wio Business account to an accounting platform, you can grant two types of permissions:

  1. Accounts (Read-Only): Allows the accounting platform to view your account balances and import transaction histories automatically.

  2. Payments (Transfers): Allows you to initiate local AED transfers to UAE beneficiaries directly from within the accounting software (each transfer requires SMS OTP authorization).

How to Connect Your Wio Business Account

Account connections are initiated directly from within the partner accounting platform:

  1. Log in to your accounting platform (Wafeq, Zoho Books, Fiskl, or Xero).

  2. Go to the Banking or Bank Connections section in your accounting software.

  3. Select Wio Bank as your financial institution.

  4. You will be redirected to the secure Wio authorization portal (https://ob.business.wio.io/).

  5. Enter your Wio Business login credentials (email and password).

  6. Select the account(s) you wish to link and choose your desired permissions (Accounts, Payments, or both).

  7. Authenticate with the OTP sent to your registered mobile phone.

  8. Once verified, you will be redirected back to your accounting software with an active connection. You will also receive a confirmation email: "You are now connected [Partner Name]".

How to View, Manage, or Revoke Connected Integrations

You can review or revoke third-party platform access at any time:

Method A: From the Wio Web Portal

  1. Log in to Wio Web at business.wio.io.
  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Under settings, select Your integrations (or Your integration).

  4. Review your active connected platforms.

  5. Tap Revoke next to any platform to immediately disconnect access.

Method B: From the Direct Consent Portal

  1. Visit [ob.business.wio.io] (https://ob.business.wio.io/) (or click the management link in your connection confirmation email).
  2. Log in with your Wio Business credentials.

  3. View your active permissions and select Revoke to cancel data sharing or payment permissions.

Note on Changing Permissions: If you wish to change your connection type (e.g., add payment permissions to an existing read-only connection), simply revoke the current connection in your settings and set up a new connection from your accounting platform.

Transfer Limits & Processing Times

For payments initiated directly from your integrated accounting software:

  • Eligible Payments: Local AED transfers within the UAE only. (International transfers must be made directly through the Wio Business app or web portal).

  • Transfers under AED 25,000: Processed instantly within minutes, available 24/7.

  • Transfers over AED 25,000: Credited within 1 business day (daily cut-off time is 7:30 PM, Monday to Saturday).

  • Saved Beneficiaries: Contacts saved in your Wio address book do not automatically sync to third-party software; beneficiary details are entered directly in your accounting software when setting up payments.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does Wio charge extra fees for accounting software integrations?

No. Wio does not charge any additional fees to link your account or initiate transactions through connected software. Standard Wio transaction charges and third-party software subscription fees apply as normal.

Can I connect multiple Wio accounts to my accounting software?

Yes. During the connection authorization setup, you can select which specific Wio current or currency accounts you wish to share with your accounting platform.

What should I do if my bank balance or transactions are not updating in my accounting software?

  1. Check that your connection is still active under Settings > Your integrations in the Wio Web portal.

  2. In your accounting platform, tap Refresh Feed or Update Bank Feed.

  3. If discrepancies persist, contact the customer support desk of your accounting platform (Wafeq, Zoho, Fiskl, or Xero) to check sync status.

What should I do if a payment initiated from accounting software shows "Pending"?

A "Pending" or "In Progress" status indicates the transaction is completing initial network verification. If the transaction does not clear within the standard processing timeframe, reach out to your accounting platform support team with the transaction reference for investigation.
