Beneficiary Security & Cooling Periods

To safeguard your account from unauthorized transactions, new beneficiaries enter a temporary cooling period before payments can be made:

  • 12-Hour Cooling Period: If Enhanced Facial Recognition (EFR) is completed.

  • 24-Hour Cooling Period: If EFR is not completed or if added by a Preparer role.

Note: Only beneficiaries with Added / Ready status can be paid. Beneficiaries in In cooldown or Rejected status cannot be selected for payment until the cooling period clears.

How to Add Multiple Beneficiaries at Once

Instead of adding payees one by one, upload your beneficiary list using our standard Excel/CSV template.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Sign in to Wio Business Web.

  2. Go to the Payments Dashboard and navigate to the Payees section.

  3. Click Add Multiple Payees.

  4. Click Download Template to get the official Excel file (BULK_BENEFICIARY_ADDITION_TEMPLATE_LATEST.XLSX).

  5. Open the template and switch to the Bulk Bene Addition sheet.

  6. Enter your payees' information according to the format rules:

    • Beneficiary Name* (Mandatory): Letters, spaces, hyphens, apostrophes, periods, commas, parentheses, and ampersands (Max 100 characters).

    • IBAN* (Mandatory): 15–34 characters without spaces. UAE format: Starts with AE followed by 21 digits (23 characters total).

    • Bank Name (Optional): Select from the dropdown list.

    • Routing Code (Optional): SWIFT BIC code matching the selected bank.

    • Nickname (Optional): Custom label for internal tracking.

    • Email (Optional): Valid email address (Max 120 characters).

  7. Save the file and upload it back via drag-and-drop or Browse.

  8. Review the file validation results:

    • Valid beneficiaries: Ready to be saved.

    • Invalid rows: Highlighted with specific error descriptions. Correct the rows in your spreadsheet and re-upload.

    • Duplicates: Payees already existing in your account.

  9. Click Save Valid Rows to complete the upload. The security cooling period will begin automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What payment types are supported?

Bulk Payments currently supports local AED-to-AED transfers within the UAE.

2. Can I make payments to new beneficiaries immediately?

No. All newly added beneficiaries undergo a security cooling period (12 hours with Enhanced Facial Recognition or 24 hours without) before they can receive payments.

3. What happens if some payments in a batch fail?

Transactions in a bulk batch are processed independently. If one payment fails due to an invalid IBAN or routing error, valid payments will still go through. You can retry only the failed rows using Retry Failed.

4. Can I edit a bulk payment while it is pending approval?

No. Once submitted for approval, the file cannot be edited. If rejected by an approver, use Edit as New Payment to generate an editable draft.

5. How far in advance can I schedule a bulk payment?

You can schedule a bulk payment for a future date and time up to 90 days in advance (on UAE business days).
