2. Joint Account Onboarding

When opening a Wio Business account for a company with multiple authorized signatories:

Account Types

  • Singly Authorized Companies: Signatories can operate the account independently without requiring approvals from other signatories for day-to-day transactions.

  • Joint Authorized Companies: Signatories must approve transactions and key account actions mutually.

How to Apply for a Joint Account

  1. Start Application: Begin company onboarding in the Wio Business app and identify the company signing authority structure.

  2. Enter Partner Details: After submitting company information, enter the details for all joint account signatories (Full name, UAE mobile number, email address, and share ownership percentage).

  3. Signatory Invitations: Each signatory will receive an email invitation to download the Wio Business app and complete their identity verification.

  4. Final Approval: Account review begins once all authorized signatories have completed their sign-up steps.

Tip: You can check the status, edit details, or resend an invitation directly from the app while onboarding is pending.

3. Debit Cards for Joint Account Signatories

Authorized signatories under a Joint Authorities structure can request business debit cards.

Card Types & Fees

  • Virtual Cards: Available instantly at no cost.

  • Physical Debit Cards:

    • Card Issuance Fee: AED 49 per physical card.

    • Delivery: Free of charge across the UAE.

    • Replacement Cards: Free for digital replacements; AED 49 if ordering a new physical card (unless fee waiver conditions apply).

How to Order and Approve a Card

  1. Open the Wio Business app and navigate to the Cards section.

  2. Select your card options and submit the card request.

  3. For jointly operated accounts, the other authorized signatory/signatories will receive an in-app approval request.

  4. Once approved by the joint signatories, the card issuance fee is applied and your card will be dispatched.

4. How to Manage a Preparer

A Preparer assists with day-to-day accounting tasks by preparing payments, creating Wages Protection System (WPS) files, downloading statements, and generating deposit reference numbers. All financial transactions submitted by a Preparer require approval from an authorized account signer.

How to Invite a Preparer

  1. Log in to the Wio Business app.

  2. Navigate to Settings $\rightarrow$ Accounts $\rightarrow$ Your Team.

  3. Tap Invite New Team Members (or Invite User - New Teammate).

  4. Enter the preparer's first name, email address, and optional UAE phone number.

  5. Select the role as Preparer, review the terms, and confirm via facial verification.

  6. Share the generated invitation code with your team member.

How a Preparer Sets Up Their Profile (Web Only)

  1. Open the email invitation and click Set Up My Profile.

  2. Enter the invitation code, registered email, and UAE mobile number.

  3. Verify via the SMS and email one-time passwords (OTPs).

  4. Create a secure password.

  5. Complete identity verification by scanning a valid Emirates ID or Passport and recording a short selfie video.

  6. Once submitted, profile verification takes 1 to 2 business days.

How to Approve or Reject a Preparer’s Payment Request

  1. When a Preparer submits a transfer, an approval request appears in the authorized person's Wio Business app.

  2. Open the request under your notifications or activity queue.

  3. Review the amount, beneficiary, and details, then tap Approve or Reject.

How to Remove or Delete a Preparer

  1. Go to Settings $\rightarrow$ Accounts $\rightarrow$ Your Team.

  2. Select the preparer you wish to remove and tap Delete User.

  3. Select Yes to confirm. Their access is immediately revoked.

5. How to Manage a Manager (Full Access Manager)

A Manager role is designed for senior team members who need operational access to manage payments and banking operations without being full legal signatories on the company mandate.

Requirements for Adding a Manager

  • Delegation Authority: The inviting authorized signatory must have legal delegation rights.

  • Required Documentation: A valid Board Resolution (on company letterhead, signed by all shareholders with company and authority stamps) or an amended Memorandum of Association (MOA) granting banking management rights to the named individual.

  • Residency: The manager must be a UAE resident with a valid Emirates ID and residence visa.

How to Invite a Manager

  1. Log in to the Wio Business app and go to Settings $\rightarrow$ Accounts $\rightarrow$ Your Team.

  2. Select Invite New Team Members $\rightarrow$ Invite User - New Teammate.

  3. Enter the manager’s name, email address, and UAE phone number.

  4. Select the Manager role and confirm the signatory delegation prompt.

  5. Accept the Terms & Conditions and Key Facts Statement to send the invitation.

  6. The invited manager will receive an email with instructions to download the app, verify their Emirates ID, and set up their login credentials.

How to Remove a Manager

  1. Navigate to Settings $\rightarrow$ Accounts $\rightarrow$ Your Team.

  2. Tap on the manager's profile and select Delete User.

  3. Confirm with Yes.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can Preparers use the Wio Business mobile app?

Currently, Preparers can only log in via the Wio Business Web application. Mobile app access for Preparers is in development.

Preparers cannot execute payments directly without approval, download credit statements, issue debit cards, sign cheques, or close accounts.

What happens if a payment approved by the owner shows as "Unmatched"?

No. Debit card issuance and cheque signing are strictly reserved for authorized joint signatories.

If an authorized signatory leaves the company, what happens to their card?

If a joint authority is offboarded from the business account, their associated physical and virtual cards are permanently deactivated.
