Overview
You can add your Wio Business Visa Platinum Card (Digital, Physical, or Virtual) to your mobile wallet—including Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Garmin Pay—for fast, secure, and contactless payments using your phone, smartwatch, or computer.
How to Add Your Card to a Mobile Wallet
Option A: Add Directly via the Wio Business App (Recommended)
Adding your card directly through the Wio Business app is the fastest, most seamless method:
Log in to the Wio Business app.
Go to Cards.
Select your card and tap Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Pay (depending on your device).
Tap continue on the confirmation screen to be redirected to your wallet app to complete the setup.
Option B: Add Manually via Apple Wallet (iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac)
Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap +.
Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, select Wallet & Apple Pay, and tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
iPad: Go to Settings $\rightarrow$ Wallet & Apple Pay $\rightarrow$ Add Credit or Debit Card.
Mac: Go to System Preferences $\rightarrow$ Wallet & Apple Pay $\rightarrow$ Add Card.
Scan your Wio card or enter the card details manually.
Complete the verification step via One-Time Password (OTP) or in-app approval.
Option C: Add Manually via Google Wallet (Android)
Open the Google Wallet app.
Tap Add Payment Method (or add to wallet).
Select Payment Card, then tap + New credit or debit card.
Scan your card or manually enter your Card Number, Expiry Date, CVV, and Billing Address.
Accept the Terms & Conditions.
Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number to finish setup.
Important Security Limit for Manual Card Entry:
When you add card details manually through the Apple or Google Wallet app (instead of through the Wio Business app), a temporary cumulative transaction limit of AED 5,000 applies for the first 24 hours. This security measure protects your account from unauthorized use.
In-App Wallet Approval Notifications
When you add your card to a mobile wallet, Wio sends you real-time alerts (Push Notification, SMS, and Email) asking you to approve the registration:
Approve: The card is instantly activated and ready for use in that wallet.
Deny: If you did not initiate the request, tap Deny. The card will immediately be blocked and removed from that specific wallet without affecting your normal card usage elsewhere.
How to Pay Using Your Mobile Wallet in Stores
Paying with Apple Pay
iPhone (Face ID): Double-click the side button, authenticate with Face ID or your passcode, and hold the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader until a checkmark appears.
iPhone (Touch ID): Rest your finger on the Home button and hold the phone near the reader.
Apple Watch: Double-click the side button and hold the watch display near the contactless reader until you feel a gentle tap.
Paying with Google Wallet
Ensure NFC is turned on in your phone settings.
Unlock your phone and hold the back of your device near the payment terminal.
Enhanced Security for Specific Online Merchants
To safeguard your funds against unauthorized transactions, Wio may prompt you with an in-app approval notification when you save or use your card on certain merchant websites:
If you approve: Your purchase proceeds normally.
If you decline: For your safety, the card is placed in freeze status. You can unfreeze it anytime directly in the Wio Business app when you are ready.
Notice on Top-Up / Stored-Value Wallet Apps
Card transactions attempting to load funds directly into third-party top-up/money wallet applications (such as digital store wallets or non-bank transfer wallets) are not supported via Wio cards.
How to transfer funds: You can still make local and international bank transfers directly from your Wio Business app at any time.
Troubleshooting Mobile Wallet Setup
If you experience issues adding your Wio Business card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet, follow the troubleshooting steps below:
Step 1: Basic Checks
Remove & Re-add: Remove any partially added or unverified Wio card from your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet app, restart your device, and try adding it again.
Add from the Wio App: Always initiate the setup from within the Wio Business app (Cards $\rightarrow$ Add to Apple Wallet / Add to Google Pay).
Check Device Software: Ensure your device's operating system (iOS or Android) is updated to the latest version.
Step 2: Did Not Receive the Verification OTP?
If the SMS One-Time Password does not arrive:
Check SMS Spam/Shortcode Blocking (UAE): If you are on the du or e& (Etisalat) network, you may have promotional/shortcode SMS filters enabled. Send UALL via SMS to 7726 to unblock service messages.
Network Reset: Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds, turn it OFF, and request the OTP again.
Step 3: Error Messages & Further Assistance
"Your bank needs to verify it's you" or "Verification required: Call 600 500 946":
This indicates an additional security verification step is needed before your card can be linked to your device. What to do:
Contact Wio Customer Support directly via in-app chat or by calling 600 500 946. Our team will guide you through identity verification and assist in activating your card in your digital wallet.
Security Reminder: Wio Bank will never ask you for your 4-digit card PIN, CVV, or full card expiry date.
